Carlo 4560 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I'd highly recommend ordering a onn. Google TV 4K Pro Streaming Device which are on sale for $39.00 right now which is a super price for a great standalone client. I unplugged my ShieldTV Pro to test the onn 4K Pro and still haven't hooked the ShieldTV backup. Besides Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos it supports CEC. It has a built-in microphone & Speaker with Google Assistant installed making it a great Google Nest/Hub/Max like device. Install Alexa and you have an Alexa Echo/Dot/Show replacement. What's cool is that you can have both a Google and Alexa device running together on the same device that's also your media streamer. Without the remote you can talk to the TV to change volume, inputs, turn on or off, to on the find remote so it beeps, etc.. Typically, a Google Next or Echo Dot alone would be more than $39 and it's just a "free" side benefit on this device. If you don't like these services, there is a side switch to turn off the microphone. Being able to easy ask "Hey Google" or "Alexa" to change the TV Input" would make it easy to use your two devices for best of both worlds and completely fix the issues you're having at present. This would also give you a "Google Cast" device as well so any device in the house that support Google Cast would have a great place to cast to. Carlo
tomcorvus 5 Posted December 16, 2024 Author Posted December 16, 2024 Thanks to all of you for your help. It is not the same price in Europe. To get something close to Onn 4K UHD, it’s at least 99€. Enough powerful to get a good user experience without lags but need to be subscribed on certain application to get all TV channels in France for example. I decided to get back Video Station on my Synology with a script given by someone on GitHub and it is working great. Movies and music play well. No need to pause/unpause. It is also very surprising that Synology has not decided to leave it available but without maintaining it. btw, I tried Emby Premium to have Emby in my vehicle and listen my music from my server, but when I play a music, it plays 5 secondes then stop, maybe to download the next few seconds, then play 10 seconds and stop, to download the next few seconds, etcetera. I have not this problem with DS audio. The music starts after few seconds but it is enough downloaded to play the music clearly and not stop to download the rest. Maybe I will go back to try Emby when I will get another device , but for now, my experience is not complete. Even if Emby seems much better than other solutions. One again, thank you for your help. 1
Luke 42077 Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Have you considered playing with a more robust dlna device?
tomcorvus 5 Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 To be honest, the box TV was released in October 2018 so I don't know what is a more robust DLNA device. And this box is updated each month. My TV was released in 2015 and videos and music play well. As I said, everything works fine with Video Station. Maybe, one day, I will buy a modern TV, and I will use Emby again.

tomcorvus 5 Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 I tried the latest beta version (4.9.0.34) and I have the same issue. Do I need to do something else?
Luke 42077 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Hi, does the latest update to the Dlna plugin help?
tomcorvus 5 Posted January 1, 2025 Author Posted January 1, 2025 is this 1.4.7.0 version? If yes, no, it doesn't help. 1

Do I need to do something else? You can get this on Amazon's UK site, so it doesn't need to be expensive. It supports Chromecast so you could cast to it instead of using DLNA. It's also Android and has a remote, so you could install an actual Emby client on the device and use it that way as well. 4K Firesticks are $10-15 more. If you don't need 4K and can use 1080p then twenty to twenty-five bucks will do. £32.99 Lemon TV Mini Android TV Box
