Cannot Access WD Emby Server with Android App

Hello -

 

I was able to successfully install the emby server on my WD Mycloud drive. I added all my music to the server, which is a lot. I have downloaded the android app and log in, but the server does not appear. I will add a screenshot from android. Any ideas?

 

I see the "sign in with emby connect" and when I do, it just returns to this screen.

Is the Android device on the same local network subnet as the the WD MyCloud NAS ?

Lets leave Emby Connect aside for now and try to connect to the server without it.

Find out the IP address of the android phone from the settings network connection info

Do the same for the MyCloud NAS from the WD Dashboard and Settings then select Network and see what the IPV4 IP address is

You can now see if it is the same subnet as the android

You can also try to connect manually on the android device by selecting Add Server and entering the NAS Ipv4 address and the port 8096 and see if that gets to the login screen on the server

Thank you for giving me some information. Both these devices are on the same network, but the IPv4 IP address is slightly different for the mycloud drive. Here are some screenshots. I will try the manual way now.

OK so both on the 192.168.0.x subnet

On the android phone can you launch the Emby App and select "Add Server" and enter 192.168.0.32 as the host and in the port field it will be 8096 and then click connect
