Recommended Posts

When I try to add a song to an existing playlist, the existing playlists do not appear as options.  Only "create new."

Hi @jodido2024can you please provide an example? What existing playlist are you referring to? Thanks !

I have a playlist called Autumn in NY (and others).  I am trying to add a version of this song to the playlist, but when I select Add to Playlist none of the existing playlists appear.  The only option is to create a new playlist.

Maybe either Emby does not like the song or maybe Emby thinks the song is so good it rises above the others and does not deserve to be polluted by sharing space with others. ;) :D

OK as a test, if you create a new playlist, does that show up in the Add to Playlist dialog?

No.  I have three playlists and none of them show up, including the one I created on Emby.  All three are visible under Playlists.

Right but I mean if you create a new one now?

I created a new playlist and was able to add a second song to it.  The new playlist was the only one that appeared.

Was the playlist created by a different user profile on your server? If so then they would have to grant you access to it as playlists are personal.

Interesting.  There is only one user profile, but it's possible the offending playlists were imported after having been created by another app (Windows Music Player or Media Monkey).  Is there a way to see who the owner is and change that?

Hi, you mean only one user on your Emby Server, right?

Were the imported playlists added to playlists or userplaylists?

If the latter you won't see them until moved to the former

If they are playlist files mixed in with his music folders, then the answer is neither.

@jodido2024is that what they are?

They're all in playlists, but they're not in the Emby playlists folder, if that matters.  They are all in a playlists folder somewhere else.  Also they're all .wpl files, not .m3u.  I'm gonna try copying them to the Emby playlists folder and see what happens.

Hi, no, you don't need to do this. What version of Emby Server are you running?

You're able to play these playlists, right?

I can play them, just can't add to them.  Anyway, I tried copying them to an Emby folder and it had no effect.

OK try this. If you edit that user in user management and just click save, does that resolve the issue?
