No emails at all from Emby or Emby Connect

Hi. I've set up Emby with an email, without receiving any verification, then I went through the process of setting up Emby Connect, again without any verification email. At no stage has any email arrived from Emby. (To test, I also went through the same process with two other emails (gmail and icloud) and the exact same issue - I've not received ANY email from Emby to any email address. Even when I tried to reset the password to this account, I haven't received ANY email from Emby to reset the password. What could be the issue causing ALL emails not to arrive?

Hi.  Who is your mail provider?

Hi. The same issue arises with a generic company email, gmail and iCloud. Non of these gives a verification email or a password reset. In fact not only single email to any of them.

Hi, have you tried with gmail?

I'm not aware of any issues delivering mail to gmail right now.  Comcast is blocking some of our emails and hasn't responded to our requests thus far.

You may have a local spam blocker in play.

I'm having the same issue. I set up a 2nd account with a different email carrier (Gmail then Yahoo!) and haven't received an activation email to either address and it's been 10-15 hours. I checked spam in both and there isn't any emails from Emby there or anywhere. Was there a resolution to this post?

Exactly what are you trying to activate?

I thought I was supposed to receive an email to verify my email address. I can't login to the Emby server (getting "Invalid user name or password. Please try again")  after it's installed on my NAS drive and I'm assuming that that is the reason why.

Hi, have you tried using the forgot password process?

Yes. Didn't work either. I changed the password but I can't get through the initial login screen to setup my media libraries. I keep getting the same error.

The password works fine for everything else except accessing the server, which I still haven't been able to get into. From my NAS home page I go to apps, click on Emby and then configure. It asks for a user name and password. I enter my credentials and get the same message as stated above.

What password is that? Meaning where did you get it from?

I downloaded and installed the proper version for my NAS. When I clicked on configure after installed it, it asked for a user name and password. It didn't have the initial wizard setup, so I created a login on Emby.media.

I'm going to uninstall it and try from scratch to see if I get the wizard this time.

OK then this is the point of confusion. It asked you for a username and password in order to create one on your server.  It's not the same thing as your Emby Connect credentials for emby.media. You can obviously reinstall if you want to but the forgot password process should be able to get you squared away.

If you're going to do a fresh start start make sure to delete the server data folder:

It never asked me to setup a user on the server, as the wizard never came up. It went directly to the login screen as if I had already setup the user on the NAS which I'm pretty sure I never had on this particular drive.

When you uninstall it does not delete the server data folder, so you must have set it up at some point in the past and forgotten about it. You may want to just delete the folder and make a fresh start.

I deleted the server data folder numerous times and still ended up with the same situation. I was gonna stick with what I've been using since the login page continued to come up, but I decided to try another browser on a whim and it worked! Very strange! Thanks for your help and sorry for being a bother. Much appreciated!

I had the same problem and it turned out my email was typed wrong in Emby Connect. Double-checked it, fixed the typo, and the confirmation email came through right away.

it turned out my IP was on an ip blacklist. Once I had my ISP provide me with a fresh IP and double-checked my DNS settings, emails started working fine again. Might be worth checking your IP with a blacklist checker just to rule that out. Also, make sure your server's sending address matches what Emby expects.
