podonnell 47 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 (edited) Trying to think of the best way to explain this one -- When I have my server dashboard or normal 'home' where I can see my content open in Chrome, and I try to click another shortcut -- nothing happens. The URL on the top changes, but the page does not update. I need to open the shortcut in a new tab for it to go there. Essentially, I'm unable to quickly move to my 'dashboard shortcut' or 'home shortcut' without opening a new tab. from /index.html#!/dashboard to index.html#!/home for example The URL updates, but the page stays on where it was previously, still responsive there. I've tried with using my full DNS name and the internal IP, it seems to happen either way. Any ideas what might be causing this, or a trick to get around it? Edited October 29, 2024 by podonnell
Luke 42079 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Hi, seems to be working just fine in my testing. Do you have any browser extensions installed?

Good idea, I tried in private mode with no extensions, but it behaved the same. Are you using Chrome or another browser?

Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) Yes I have always seen this issue as the Refresh does not happen when you click the shortcut/favorite link. Clicking the Favorite link and then F5 it will load the new path. Note they always work from side of Emby ie new tab will load the page but from within Emby a Refresh is required to change the page. Only tested in Edge. Edited October 30, 2024 by Happy2Play

I just tried what you said, and when I hit F5, the page loaded. I'm very curious how @Lukewould be seeing different results. 1
visproduction 315 Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Browsers have memory performance tools now, that affect how tabs open. If you had it turned up to maximum, new tabs should work, but previous tabs may be slow to open. It doesn't sound like this is the problem. Might be worth a look at your browser settings. Luke 42079 Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Maybe I just need to better understand what you're doing.

Here's a video of the issue: https://streamable.com/r5vhyz Mouse cursor isn't captured but you can see the shortcuts being clicked. As mentioned, clicking on any shortcut that changes the path does nothing until I force reload the page. If I'm outside of emby, the shortcut works fine. But if I'm already on my dashboard and I want to go to my 'home screen' or vice versa, it does nothing.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 It has always been that way for me. If url is highlighted, then clicking enter a second time will load the page somewhat the same as a Refresh but clicking the shortcut/favorite multiple times does nothing. But get the same results in every browser.
