sdragon001 17 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Can we please revert the change where no matter where you touch on your touch screen it pauses/plays video, it used to be you’d have to hit the play/pause button and tapping anywhere on the screen it would show/hide the OSD. Now if I touch the screen the OSD pops up, the video pauses and then I can select subtitles, info, chapter, settings, screen brightness then I have to touch the screen anywhere again to play then wait for the OSD to disappear. This is just a nuisance. 1
Luke 42077 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Hi, we are looking into this. Thanks for reporting. 1
sdragon001 17 Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 How’s this looking, any fixes planned yet? The only fix so far is to a different player like “Infuse or Vidhub” this is an extremely big annoyance and it’s frustrating. I’ve tried installed official Apple release (App Store) and all test builds on beta, this unusual behaviour is present all on builds.
Luke 42077 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 HI, yes we are looking into resolving this. Thanks. 1 1
technopaw 0 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I would like to add on to this issue that I didn't experience it till iOS 18.2 Here is my reddit post for reference. I haven't seen anything regarding this yet either on the Emby forums or on reddit but after updating to 18.2 the Emby app will now pause the video I am watch if I tap anywhere on the screen. This issue seems to be happening on my iPad pro M4, iPhone 15 and iPad mini. The main annoyance with this is that whenever I pause a video, I lose the playback speed setting. I then have to set it again and do so very carefully so as to not pause the video by taping on a blank part of the screen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app with the issue still happening after. I am assuming that this issue is because of iOS/iPadOS 18.2 and we just need to wait for a fix. I am on the Emby app version 2.2.31 from the Appstore. I will normally watch a show on my way into work and it wasn't happening then. I updated to iOS 18.2 at work and on the way home I noticed the bug. So, I decided to test it on my iPad before updating and couldn't get the bug to happen on the app. I then updated to 18.2 (Big Mistake) and the bug started to happen.

This has nothing to do with iOS, the issue has been going on for a while now. The update probably triggered the app to update as well
jaz6192 0 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Also having this issue - just updated to iOS 18.2 and updated the Emby app and now video pauses every time I touch the screen. Hoping a fix is coming soon because this is really annoying.
