Chapters and Specs Markings

Hello again, I wanted to discuss this time about 2 subjects.

I noticed that chapter markings and preview thumbnails are affected by video format. If the video is in 4:3 format the preview thumbnail and chapter markings will be in similar proportions. However, when the video aspect ratio is that of a widescreen the thumbnails and chapter markings bear black borders although the file is cropped. I know there are many different widescreen aspect ratios and that the current way is probably easier to make, but I do think that it will vastly improve the app and be useful.

I noticed in movies that in the metadata you can manually edit in different type of 3D formats and a 3D icon will pop up next to the movie's genre. I was hoping you could add in future app versions a similar icon for example Dolby Atmos, HDR content etc. I'm attaching images for illustration.

Hi, as I've explained the thumbnails of both chapter markings and live preview have those black borders. The thumbnails reflect what's in the video, yes.

OK that's just because the box that it gets displayed in has a 16:9 aspect ratio. We have a few aspects that get used, for example 16:9, 4:3, etc. You don't see bars on the 4:3 one just because it happens to be an exact match.

Yes, I know that since it is a 2.4:1 aspect ratio, black borders are added to the thumbnails. I was just wondering if you could, in future app updates, support all possible aspect ratios. I saw that in several streaming services even ultra-wide screen aspect ratio gets supported without that addition of those borders. I don't think there is necessarily an issue with the way it looks at the moment, but it can improve the app's interface, in my opinion.
