nodiaque 62 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to add a field in the user account for the email (not emby connect) so when the user press "forget password", it send a reset link/password at that email? I have a user that keep forgeting it's password, he's not a local user so cannot access the file generated on the server so he ask me everytime to reset it. Would be great to be able to use the forget password feature. Thank you! 1
Luke 42079 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Hi, how would your personal Emby server send out emails?
nodiaque 62 Posted October 23, 2024 Author Posted October 23, 2024 Could do like other apps (ombi, sonarr, unraid, etc) a place where you enter information for an SMTP server from which it sends. I have an alternate email called ombi@something.com where all information about request from ombi are sent from. Since it's alternate from my main, I get the reply on my own account. I could do the same on my emby server l. Somewhere in the settings, we set the configuration for an SMTP server/relay and other such kind of information. 1

nodiaque 62 Posted October 23, 2024 Author Posted October 23, 2024 email notification? where you set that?
darkassassin07 652 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Requires the email notifications plugin emby supplies in its plugin catalog 1
nodiaque 62 Posted October 23, 2024 Author Posted October 23, 2024 oh yeah, it's an official plugin... So yeah, you guys already have everything you need. Just make it dependant on the plugin so only thing needed on the gui is a field for the email that is saved in the database and a modification for the reset password feature that already exist to do something else then writting a local file.
