@hooray00what format subtitles?

If the subtitles are graphical (PGS or VobSub) and the client can't play them, they will be burnt in at the server, which requires transcoding, and consequent loss of quality.  If you are able to get hold of SRT subtitles, these can normally be played by the client, avoiding this issue.
