Slow sync since upgrading to v10.1.0 on Kodi 21

Hi,

Long time Emby Next Gen user on Kodi on my Nvidia Shield. Since the addon upgraded to V10, of which meant I had to do a database reset. The sync that happens when I open Kodi takes about 0.5-1.0 seconds an TV episode to sync. It's been like this for few weeks now and thought it may fix itself but when lots of episodes have had their metadata refreshed it takes a while if there's 200 episodes needing to be synced.

I have the plugin installed on the Emby Server to speed up the sync, as well.

Have I missed something or is there a bug? 🤔

Emby running in docker on a i7-3770 32GB ram, Emby container and database all located on SSD storage as well.

Well, sounds right to me but performance depends on many parameters. You may try an update to 11.X and see if the performance improves. Startup sync of 1-2 minutes is not unusual. Mainly depends on server performance and CPU/Ram is not necessarily an the biggest concern.

Emby's database performance is the most limiting factor, however an SSD should to the job. Not sure if there is extra overhead running on docker.

fyi, 10.X versions syncs additional content compared with older version, so there might be a small difference, but should not be much.

Also you can send me a kodi.log for review.

Sorry for the delay been busy, and just been opening kodi and then doing something else.

It used to delta sync very quickly, so maybe it is the additional content, if there a way to turn that off, so I can test?  Or would you suggest moving to 11.x first?

If I submit you a kodi.log, do you want me to toggle any settings before hand?

No problem, I'm also kinda busy -> vacation 🙂

I would suggest an upgrade to 11.X first and see how it's going there.

You can do that manually, or wait for 2 more weeks till I push it into the Emby's Kodi beta repository.

I'll happily wait for you to push it in to the Emby beta repo.  I have a feeling ill manually do it and forget to move it back to auto updates via the repo.
