Latest addition

Hello,

Let's say when a new series or a monitored movie is downloaded, it is correctly added to my server, and I can access the series directory to view them—no issues there.

On the home page, is it possible to have a shortcut like "Recently Added Media"?

What I'm trying to achieve is, for example, if 2 episodes from 2 different series are downloaded today, I'd like to see only those 2 episode thumbnails on the home page, allowing me to easily click and view them. While I used 2 episodes as an example, I have several monitored episodes, so a dedicated section like this would be very helpful. Let me know if this is something that can be done.

Every library "Latest" row on Home Screen is in reality "Recently Added Media" row.

Specific example would be required if you're not observing same behavior.

You can't have individual episodes (thumbs) on the Home Screen Latest row, only TV Shows (posters) those episodes have been added to.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Just to confirm, are you referring to this :

Yes, you'll have one "Latest" row per each library.

Ok. Just curious—can you tell me how the latest rows are defined? Are they based on the release date or the time they were added? If they’re based on the added time, then it’s not working correctly for me. For example, I downloaded two media files, but they’re appearing as the 6th and 7th items in the list.

Settings>Library tab in the sidebar>Advanced tab on top of the page, select "Date added behaviour for new content" from the dropdown to be either "Date scanned into library" or "File creation date".

You likely have latter criteria (File creation date) selected.

Thanks. And you're right. I changed that setting to Date scanned into library but even after rescaning the library and refreshing the meta info the order is not changing. Do I need to do anything else to reflect this change?

As stated on top of library edit page, any change made to library settings/options will apply only to new items going forward. For existing items, for some changes made to be reflected Refresh Metadata will suffice, for some (like in your particular scenario) it won't, so you'd have to remove those items from your library root folder(s), run Scan media library task to clear the dB and then reimport them. Or manually change Date Added field(s) in Edit Metadata dialog to reflect desired dates
