softworkz 5066 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 @Carlo- Backstory: In the new Windows Beta, we were inserting the deinterlace filter based on Emby Server's determination of IsInterlaced. @markypmentioned to have files which are interlaced but the server detects them as non-interlaced, so I asked him to post an example file in the Emby Server forum for investigation, as this would need to be fixed at the server side. I hadn't considered the possibility of videos having mixed interlacing. The takeaways are: We can't do any better at the server side, because scanning through whole files is too costly We nee to be aware that the server's determination of IsInterlaced is safely applicable to the start of the videos only For TVnext we will be able to have better metadata in this regard In the clients, we must insert a deinterlacing filter If a video is marked by the server as interlaced If the original container format is mpegts
Carlo 4560 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Do you have Deinterlacing turned on in Theater video preferences?
softworkz 5066 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 It was about the new Emby Windows Beta (different playback impl) and it's resolved already. 1
