js28194 36 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 So I finally got around to setup a test enviroment for migrating to a single source for TV and Guide data. I have Emby 4.7.13 running (for well over a year now) with zero issues. My first step was to remove 2 HDHR2-US tuners and HDHR4K connect from Live TV and removed the Emby source as guide. Restarted the server, and LiveTV removed as expected. Then I configured the NextPVR plugin to the correct ip address/port and pin number and the guide automatically refreshed and LiveTV in Emby enable once again. The trouble is that NextPVR guide data is correct (it's derived from XMLTV) and even in Kodi, the correct is correct. What is weird is the guide in Emby Web has everything tagged as premiere episodes. Any thoughts on what I can do to clean up?
js28194 36 Posted October 20, 2024 Author Posted October 20, 2024 There is not a single mention of the word PREMIERE in it all. Also, I use the same exact file directly in EMBY as a guide source (did not use emby built in one) and the guide data is fine. Both Emby production, NextPVR production use the exact same file from the same network location. It is only when I removed the Tuners and Guide data from Emby, installed NextPVR plugin and connect directly (to the same production NextPVR Server) this occurs. It's a big 27MB file but like I said, looks clean and it does work as expected.
emveepee 132 Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Is Emby configured to read the XMLTV file or read the EPG from the NextPVR API? Martin
js28194 36 Posted October 20, 2024 Author Posted October 20, 2024 (edited) Production Emby is reading XMLTV directly with tuners (no NextPVR involvement) Guide looks fine in Emby and NextPVR independently. Test Emby System with No Tuners, no XMLTV is using NextPVR backend directly via the Emby/NextPVR API plugin. Emby Web EPG and App EPG says PREMIERE on all listings, NextPVR guide is fine. emveepee 132 Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 To me it sounds like the issue is how Emby is reading the NextPVR API and determining if it is a premiere, since that value this isn't even passed by the API, just firstrun true or false with season and episode if available.
Solution js28194 36 Posted October 20, 2024 Author Solution Posted October 20, 2024 (edited) Ah I see. Well, it seems I stumbled upon the solution my self. I do not know why but unchecking this button cleans up the whole guide and now looks normal. Now, New and Repeat appear correctly. This is Emby Server 4.7.13 so not sure if it's worth any value investigating this as a bug since I am behind. Funny though, the box is checked on my production system and it behaves normally. Thanks for helping all. Edited October 20, 2024 by js28194
Luke 42078 Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Hi, that just removes the indicator. The data is still there though. I would suggest updating to Emby Server 4.8 and see if that helps.
