chrisrobbins1970 82 Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 OK this is a weird one.. Roku > Emby > Music ... There are extra letters after Z, that go NO where... ON the web version..No extra letters...
ebr 16169 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 The web version doesn't have some of the other letters in the list either. Are you sure that is the exact same view in both?
chrisrobbins1970 82 Posted October 19, 2024 Author Posted October 19, 2024 Yes, both are using alumartist.. correct web version does not show extra letters, but Roku does...it's weird
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 While not a fix just looking at that screen shot makes me think about language. Specifically the language selected in the library settings. However I do not really think that is the issue but it is something that can be investigated. If you change the language for the library you may have to refresh metadata on that library and, if you have to do that it would, probably, not be a good idea to replace existing images. The problem I foresee is that media is being somehow treated as non-English in the sort title. I do not see this on my Rokus but all my libraries are set at English (I do have some truly foreign movies but I always use regular English characters for all display options. ) Aside for that I have no real guess about what might be wrong. One question that might already be answered: If you select one of the letters after "Z" what happens? Probably not a question that could lead to a solution but it is one that could have an "interesting" answer.
speechles 2055 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 (edited) @chrisrobbins1970Apologies. It is mixing your artists and composers. That is why you have those characters other than English. The Composers will contain those characters. I know exactly why this is happening and what the problem is and where in the code to fix it. I will put up some things on the issue tracker to hopefully resolve this quickly. Thank you for reporting too. Never forget to complain about the app no matter how small the issue may be. If you find anything faulty we would love to hear about it and how to replicate. Thanks again. Edited October 19, 2024 by speechles
chrisrobbins1970 82 Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 UPDATE: I painstakingly went through ever album I had using MP3TAG and looked for any odd characters. None. It was not all a loss. I was able to fix a few issues I had with naming, but still Roku showing the extra letters. 1
Luke 42077 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 We are looking into this. @speechles Thanks for reporting.
