Hi there. Is there a version of Emby that runs on a 2023 Samsung?

Software Version: T-NKLCUABC-2000.3

This is the latest version of Tizen for TV according to Samsung.

It should be available in the app store.  What country/region are you in?

Hi Luke. Sorry for the late reply. 

South Africa. It's Tizen, not google play store.

Works well on my android TV.

Have you checked the Samsung store (Home...APPS)?  It should be available there for most every country now.

Where can it be found? I have checked the Samsung app store every month since I bought it mid 2023. Still nothing there.

See picture attached. I have checked online from Emby. Only older version that don't work when I try run load them from flash.

Can you confirm the firmware version and the Tizen version (from the 'About this TV' settings)?

I have checked the app store as can be seen in screenshot there is no emby on this version of Tizen.

Software version: T-NKLCUABC-2000.3, E2371410, BT - S

The last version available on Emby website for download is 2014 H-Series.

Is it not possible to upload a newer version that will run a new TVs version of Tizen?

Samsung have said there updated version will have it at some stage. But that has been 18 months already. TV will be antiquated by the time they sort it out.

What would your rough estimate of time be? 

I hate going backwards, but might need to purchase a android media box again. If still a long time.

Probably a few months because we can't submit country change requests and app update requests at the same time, so we have to wait for all existing submissions to go through their process first.

Can you add Vietnam to the request too?

And please add it into the United Arab Emirates Samsung TV app store as it does not show up when searching on the new Samsung I just bought. 

How exactly will we know when it has been added and will start showing up for us in the currently unsupported app stores?

Thanks Luke.  Is there a way we can be notified of new blog posts?  Is there the ability to 'follow' the blog section so that I can get a notification whenever there is a new post from the Emby team?

Hi Luke, just checking if there is any ETA on when you will configure the Smart TV app to be able to show in the UAE app store for Samsung TVs?

Currently the sideload version I use eventually stops which tells me that I need to uninstall, download latest version, sideload again, and then re-do all my app settings.

Being able to move on from this cycle would be much appreciated (unless there's a way you can advise to stop the app timebombing out eventually?)

Hi. I just would like to know how often is the app updated in the Samsung app store.

As far as I can see, newest version is currently 1.9.8, however, in store is published 1.9.0 which is over 8 months old.

So I am wondering if It is more convinient to install manually the newest version instead from store.

Hi, during this time we have been caught up in country expansion requests to get the app released in more locations, and unfortunately the Samsung dev portal doesn't let us have an open app update submission and country addition request at the same time. That means we submit, and then we have to wait for it to completely go through it's process before we can submit anything again. So that has slowed app updates lately. Anyway, we are currently ready to submit an app update, but we are actually still waiting for our last update to completely finish as it is still in review for a few models. So hopefully that will happen soon and then we'll get the next update submitted. Thanks.
