Is this all I need to keep pulling in new trailers?

I know there's work being done on improving trailer quality, but I really like how the current implementation pulls them in and creates an entry for the movie.
It's most useful when I see an item in 'more like this' and it shows items that aren't in my library.

Technically, this has nothing to do with trailers, but I don't think there's any other plugin that does this?
Basically, I'd love to see similar recommendations or 'more like this' for content I don't have.
If someone knows of another way to pull in all this metadata through another plugin, let me know.

Otherwise, the trailers plugin is working well for this.
My primary question is -- is this the only setting I need enabled in order to continue to pull in 'new' trailers / recommendations?
I had disabled actually seeing trailers before I play content, but want to make sure new trailers still come in.

Hi,

Yes, that should be all you need to do on that screen, but you might want to also turn on the archive and see what you think.
If you want to see trailers (like libraries) on the home screen you will want to make sure each user has access to it (uses menu).

PS, you may want to check out the Cinema Intro plugin since that can use the trailers as well.

I was thinking about Archive. This will pull in a ton of historical data, older movies, etc..?? Is there a listing of what is included there? Also if I find that it is too much, can I simply disable this, and they go away?

For the user access, they just need the 'Playlists' selected under the Channel section?

It will pull in a lot, yes, but you can always disable it later.

This brings up an interesting point that I haven't tested. If you activate the "archive" settings, will the trailers tab include local trailers, or only the online trailer even though a local one is available? I would find it very beneficial if the trailers tab had a way to also show local trailers so they could be selected and added to playlists or collections.

Sorry to butt in, but do the Trailer channel plugin actually ever update trailers?  There has been no new trailers for a long time, and almost all the trailers in the channel is for movies now available on bluray/stream..  No trailers at all for 2025 movies..

Yes, the newest trailer I have is homestead 2024, when will it update for new trailers

Yes this becomes an issue also as who becomes responsible to maintain a list update as now it really goes until someone says something then eventually gets updated again. 

I guess this will potentially change with a YouTube list that someone else will technically maintain when the plugin actually changes sources again.

Yes but only in the Beta server branch (4.9.x.x).
