shanarago 3 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 I'm unable to get audio to work with STRM but video works just fine. I want to use STRM files for movie and TV soundtracks from my library to save space. My server will not recognize the STRM file if it's audio. I even tried making a separate music library with STRM files as a test in case it had something to do with how theme music is recognized and it didn't work. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if Emby just doesn't support straight audio files right now?
Luke 42079 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Hi, why do you think they're not being recognized?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 What exactly did you do? But works fine here.

I was finally able to get it to work in a music library (not sure what I did differently.) It still won't work as a theme though. I tested it by by placing it as "theme-music\song1.strm" and I a mp3 file placed as "theme-music\song2" and only song2 plays.
Solution Luke 42079 Posted October 16, 2024 Solution Posted October 16, 2024 Hi, there's already an open request for this or something functionally equivalent. Please join in and contribute to the existing discussion at:

Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 The Solution needs removed in that Feature request as it does not work for Theme Music (mp3), but looks like backdrops works with strm files. And no issues seen with audio or video library files.
Luke 42079 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 We can look at strm support for themes. Thanks.
