Playlist genres getting deleted

Hello,

On a playlist :

Initial :

I add a genre :

and save

If i reopen the playlist genre is here :

waiting for 5 min approx. without any actions on emby :

genre has disapperred

I'm Guessing this is music, right ?

Add Genres to music files with mp3tag or another tag program.

Emby uses music tags.

But I see you have logged that Genres, so that should not happen.

Dev will have to comment but Genre comes from items on that playlist so manually adding to playlist will not save properly.

That can be an explanation yes. But with the 'lock' activated it should not get deleted ?

Genre is saved in playlist file ?

Dev will have to comment here as there is no metadata for playlist except what is extract from item added to the list and it is db only from my understanding.

Hi, currently playlist genres are automatically set based on the genres of the items in the playlist. We'll update this to not happen when the genres are locked.

I wouldn't recommend it though as you'll be required to manually handle them as you add and remove from the playlist.

I want to manually handle my playlists genres

As explained in a features request, i would like to sort my  music playlists but a few themes only.

too much genre ==> you don"t find what you need ; So i would like to  restrict the playlist genre to 15 / 20 genres maximum. and i want to set the genres manualy.

So it will be perfect if i can lock genre on playlist
