muilloome 5 Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 Hello, I've check and i don"t find the request like i want. I would like to have a new page with playlist categories, where you click/select a catégorie and you will have the list of corresponding playlist. Examples of categories : Rap / Dance / Kids / Classical (etc etc...) A playlist can be in multiple categories. Maybe using playlist tags (but with the possibility to display only choosen tags). I know there's the filter menu, bu it would be great to have a dedicated page to choose the music i want to listen by style. Hope it is clear and not redundant. Thanks Guillaume

Hi, all of these category examples could be regarded as Genres. If you haven't looked at the Genres options within Emby, then this may be a good starting point..? Emby has a lot of flexibility for music selection and playback with Genres, Tags, Collections and Playlists. Emby will import embedded Genre metadata if you have this in your music files. You can also assign music Genres within Emby itself. You can select and play individual Genres from the Genre menu tab. The Genres menu tab takes you to a dedicated page of Genres which may be exactly what you are requesting? Cheers! 1

Hello, Yes "genre" that was what i mean with "tags" is great but maybe a one click from home to genre is possible ? I would like something more "graphical" with the possibility to display only particular genre without the need of a user filter. Addition : and the possibility to only display playlists. In music / genre you got also albums and titles. You understand ? (french speaking ... again sorry). Edited October 13, 2024 by muilloome
user24 313 Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 (edited) I think I am understanding maybe only a little... You can add Collections and Playlists to your Home Screen from the Settings page: Therefore you could make Collections and/or Playlists of individual Genres and then select them directly with one click from your Home Screen. I see.. That's good but not perfect. Music collections are mixed with Movies collections... I'm adding my music to emby and this kind of features to help the browing would be great.

With careful naming of your Collections/Playlists you may be able separate your Movie Collections/Playlists from your Music ones. E,g, you could use prefix emoji symbols: Movie Genre 1 Movie Genre 2 Music Genre 1 Music Genre 2 Please note: this is just a possible workaround and may not be ideal for you or worth doing??? If you create a lot of Collections/Playlists, this will currently mean a lot of horizontal scrolling on the Home Screen to get to what you want. There are likely better options... There may also be more options coming from Emby later on, but no one apart from Emby knows when!!!

Luke 42077 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 HI, can't you get to your music-only genres from inside your music library?
