fredflix 31 Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) Emby 3.4.23 on Android phone and Nvidia Shield. If the "Enable theme songs" setting is enabled, browsing to a Show that doesn't have an audio theme song will crash the app. When disabling the "Enable theme songs" setting, browsing Shows without an audio theme works fine. emby.log Edited October 12, 2024 by fredflix
Luke 42077 Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 HI, what exactly do you mean by crash the app?
fredflix 31 Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) 1 hour ago, Luke said: HI, what exactly do you mean by crash the app? Hi Luke, The app just force closes, aka it disappears from your screen and the phone goes back to its home screen. Same thing on the shield. In the video attached, I show "The Gentlemen" as an example because I don't have a theme song for that specific show. I have another show without a theme song and same thing happen. On the other hand, shows with theme songs are browse-able no problem regardless of the "Enable theme songs" setting. Edited October 12, 2024 by fredflix
Solution fredflix 31 Posted October 12, 2024 Author Solution Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) Ok, scrap that. It's my fault. Looks like somehow the show did contain a 467 bytes "theme.mp3" file in its directory. So basically an empty mp3 file. Not sure how it got created. Maybe a bug with the daily TV theme plugin routine? Emby would just crash when trying to play that buggy/empty mp3 theme as a result. Removed the mp3 file and all is good Edited October 12, 2024 by fredflix 1
fredflix 31 Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 I gotta add though, that while the Android app did crash because it couldn't read the faulty theme.mp3, the iOS app on the other hand did not crash with same scenario. The iOS app seems to handle "bad" mp3 files better in that regard. 1
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 Yet another justification for my turning off all "theme" audio and video. I do not like programs that intrude on my browsing or watching and I find "themes" with video or audio extremely intrusive. Thank you Emby for not forcing "themes" on me!
