csadoian 36 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 The other day my wife called me into the living room and asked me "How do I get rid of that box on the screen"? I looked at the screen and the "stats for nerds" was displayed. I asked her if she had pushed down on the directional pad of the remote, accessed the gear icon and selected "Stats for nerds". Nope, don't even know how to do that. So I turned it off and went on my way. The next day I was using the TV with Emby on my Google TV and while watching a show I accidentally held down the center button on the directional pad for about 1/2 second and up popped "Stats for Nerds". Ok, now I know how it happened to wife. I'm assuming this is a new feature (Emby TV version 2.1.21g) which is fine, but can you make the required long press LONGER than a 1/2 second, to prevent accidental activation of the feature? I'd suggest 2 seconds. I looked in the settings and I didn't see any way to adjust the timing of this feature so I'm assuming it's hard coded.

csadoian 36 Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 Strange that myself or my wife have never encountered it before, and now it seems to pop up all the time. Maybe our remote control is sticky In any case, I still think it would be a good idea to add a little more delay to the function. No big deal, though. Now that I know what causes the pop up I can easily get rid of it by pressing the pad again. Thanks.
GrimReaper 4739 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 For reference: Quote 1.5.43 Fix auto logoff firing when paused Shortcut for stats for nerds (long-press select) Update to latest Exo Adjust error retry method Releases didn't t have date at that time, guess would be 1.5.43 was released somewhere around 2018-2019? @ebr
