ThePaladinTech 22 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 hi all I have a TCL Roku TV - which recently got Software Version 14.0.4 build 12218. The TVs are getting the new software first this time because Roku is rolling out 'back drops.' with backdrops enabled when you 'power off' the tv it no longer powers off, instead it starts the back drops app, which shows various photos (I've got mine set to beaches) - to really power off you need to hold the power button down. Problem is next up and continue watching are not displaying the tv show art work. instead it is showing a frame grab from the show (like there is no artwork) i believe this is related to the new roku software but not sure.
ebr 16169 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Hi. What do you see in the web app for the exact same user?

Just a bit more info: i have a Roku Ultra and i have the latest Roku firmware (I was updated some time last week) and all my artwork looks fine. I do not know what the real difference between the old and the new on the set top boxes but it appears that something in the TV software that does not work the same in the boxes. I see no problems, at least yet, on my system, that could be related to the Roku software. Of course I know that just because a particular box works correctly does not mean that there is not a problem but it just means that it could be something different between the Roku boxes and TVs that is causing problems.
Solution ThePaladinTech 22 Posted October 11, 2024 Author Solution Posted October 11, 2024 So after posting this I tested all my clients - only the one I mentioned exhibited the problem... but I had another roku TV with the same firmware not showing the problem. I removed and re-installed the emby roku app - problem gone. So somehow when the roku updated the emby app got corrupted?
ebr 16169 Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Hi. It may have been a device space or cache issue. Thanks for reporting back.
