Syztemlord 7 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Hi guys, is there a way to always have the server admin have a Premiere licence? I see that I'm over limit in the status but some times admin still keeps Premiere access but other times it goes for a few days until a licence free's up. I don't want to purchase more device limit, just thought that admin would always be Premiere enabled? @ebr

Premiere license is tied to a server, not user - being admin or not has zero effect on that (as any user theoretically can be made an admin). Only devices limit count. Is there a limit to Emby Premiere? 1
Syztemlord 7 Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 Thanks Grim, I suspected so. Might be a worthwhile option for the future?
GrimReaper 4739 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 That's something for the Devs to comment on, but personally don't think it'd be realistic expectation, as it'd require some core changes (as users/type of users never played any part in it) and as you can have 20-30-50 admins on your server - which one should have access then? All of them? If not, how to determine which one? Additional user-type layer? That'd have to be thought throughout and don't think it'd happen any time soon, if ever. But as said, that's only my personal opinion.
Carlo 4560 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Keep in mind it's a device license and not a user license. As long as the device itself has used a Premiere feature recently and hasn't fallen off the Premiere Device list it should not give up its Premiere device license. If an admin or user logs into Emby using a different device/PC and you're over the Premiere device license limit it won't be able to get a Premiere license which is expected behavior, @Syztemlord With the above in mind, did you log in as admin on a different device/pc that hasn't used a Premiere feature in the last week?
