jluce50 122 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Emby for Kodi auto updated to 10.0.47 yesterday (running Kodi 20.2). It triggered a database reset during which Kodi crashed so now I have to go through the setup process again. When I select my server and try to log in as my user it tells me "Your access to Emby is restricted". It's the same for any user I try. Nothing has changed on the Emby side. Trying to sign in with Emby Connect gives me the same error. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? What's not normal, that your access is restricted. Do you login with password or autologin (config on Emby server)? Is it an admin (Emby) account you use? Does the login work on Emby server's WebUI? Emby server does no longer allow autologin with admin accounts, if you use that. Edited October 8, 2024 by quickmic

Emby server does no longer allow autologin with admin accounts, if you use that. I log in with a password. I tried some non-admin users and I get the same "restricted" error. I even started with a fresh install of Kodi 21.1 and Emby for Kodi 11.x.x. Same thing. Android, WebUI, and Emby Theater all work fine.
quickmic 1703 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Remove the affected device from "devices" in Emby server's WebUI and try to login again.

Tenker 6 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) I have the same symptoms ... As you recommended, I have deleted the PC from the GUI devices. Logged out of Kode and logged back in. Unfortunately it does not list any libraries, so you cannot access them (as in the picture). I back up my Windows OS with Acronis and have an older version with Kodi + Emby 10.0.38 = same problem! So it remains Emby-Server emby-server-synology7_4.9.0.30_x86_64.spk on my Synology with DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 6 to blame, because I did the update 2 weeks ago! Where can I find older versions of emby-server-synology7_4.9.0.**_x86_64.spk ? Can I uninstall as a trial and then downgrade? Thanks for your help Tenker Edited October 9, 2024 by Tenker
Tenker 6 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I found the server files, but you can't downgrade it
quickmic 1703 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Are the libraries accessible for the (Emby) user account you use in the plugin?
Tenker 6 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Under http://192.168.0.15:8096/web/index.html#!/home all visible, with Kodi there is no access to the libraries.
quickmic 1703 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Does the user have admin permissions? If not, you could try assign admin previlegies.
Tenker 6 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) Yes, the PC user is Admin and therefore has all rights... Edited October 9, 2024 by Tenker
quickmic 1703 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Then please send me a debug-log (via PM) when you open the library selection in the plugin.
Tenker 6 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Do you mean from the Emby server on Synology, when on the PC Kodi -> embyforkodi -> Libraries on the PC? https://emby.media/support/articles/Log-Files.html If so, then tomorrow I have to somehow gain access to the ROOT of the DSM and thus to Emby Server data...
Tenker 6 Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 I made several attempts yesterday: - Made several recovery from backups and found that a 1 year old recovery brought a success. I was able to retrieve my libraries without any problems. - then I tried to get the not “working” Kodi to work: uninstalled and reinstalled all 4 Emy plugins = no success. - Kodi completely uninstalled and reinstalled, everything works. I don't know where the error was, but it works with the new installation. Thanks for your help. Tenker 1
