Nested folder shenanigans

I have my emby content broken up into different shares in OMV. They are Blurays, DVDs, Music.

Then each share is broken up by content, so Blurays/Movies, Blurays/TV. From there the files are sorted into a directory for each movie, e.g. Blurays/Movies/Heat/Heat.mkv. Hopefully that makes sense to everyone.

But when I use folders view in emby, whether on web or Shield app the movies are nested like this: Blurays/Movies/Heat/Heat/Heat.mkv. It didn't used to be like this, but I did switch to BTRFS recently. I checked with Jellyfin and they are arranged as they are supposed to be.

Any idea why it changed to this structure?

Pretty sure that is how Emby is setup now as the folder view is to a point adding a layer per item.  Where previously it collapsed a layer similar to the movies tab.  But yes this is a change in 4.8+.

Thanks, Happy2Play. I did just update it. I guess it's good nothing is broken.

It is all related to the changes to system.xml <CollapseVideoFolders> and library <CollapseSingleItemFolders> to try and give a more authentic folder view as it adds the folder and item layers.

But everyone will have different result per how old their install is.  Not sure if the dev will force the change on everyone or just new installs as is can be destructive forcing the library to rebuild as it is doing now on a library I just was retesting with.

Hi. This helps make the folder view more accurate. There is a way we can reduce the clicks though by adding the ability to auto enter items when they are the only one in a folder.

That would be great, Luke.
