RRo100 10 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Hello, when you select an actor in Emby, there is a Movies & Shows section. But not all of them are shown there. How is this section filled by an algorithm from Emby or an external source? For example, Tony Amendola, who played in "Stargate". This entry is missing in Emby.
Luke 42079 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Hi, it only shows what is in your library. Do you have all of those movies in your Emby library?

Happy2Play 9781 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 And if you enter Stargate SG-1 is the person listed? But to me it sounds like the Show/media is missing cast/crew members so Emby can not link them.
Luke 42079 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Hi, yes I would try refreshing the metadata on those two stargate series and see if that updates the cast and crew list accordingly. Thanks.
RRo100 10 Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Hello, here's another example. The series KAOS was made available for EMBY 3 days ago. Jeff Goldblum and Billie Piper are actors in the series. The series is available for Jeff, but not for Billie. What could be the reason for this?
Happy2Play 9781 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 (edited) What server version and client as Movies & Shows should not be combined as each content type should have their own row. Also the library metadata order at least for TV as I did not get the cast and crew order you have as Billie Piper is number 19. But sounding like you have a database issue. RRo100 10 Posted October 22, 2024 Author Posted October 22, 2024 Emby Version 4.9.0.14 beta, Clients: Web, Amazone TV Stick und LG TV How can I check if the database is OK

But dev may have to comment and see server log but odd are you don't have the log when anomaly happened. As you do have the images above for Kaos that shows both Actors and not showing the link on the one persons page. Is there a reason you are still on a old version? As there have been like 15 beta release since then.
RRo100 10 Posted November 2, 2024 Author Posted November 2, 2024 I updated to version 4.9.0.30 beta, now Billie Piper no longer appears in the cast of the series Kaos
Happy2Play 9781 Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Depending on the size of your database a Dev/Staff member may need to look at it as I know I am unable to reproduce this issue. But sort of sounds like a metadata issue. Do you write metadata with media? What content is in a Series/Movie folder for a specific actor having a issue?

If you edit your TV Show Library what order do you have your metadata providers listed?
RRo100 10 Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Hello, not really. I tried to understand the logic behind the selection. For some actors only the episodes are shown, for others some series are missing. For example, the actor Victor Garber is missing from the series DC's Legends of Tomorrow. I don't understand how the assignment works.

RRo100 10 Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Hi Luke, I have updated the metadata of "Legends of Tomorrow" and "Victor Garber". The following settings: Series metadata TheMovieDb TheTVDB Season metadata TheMovieDb Episode metadata TheMovieDb TheTVDB In series, e.g. season 01, Victor Garber's cast is shown. If I select the actor "Victor Garber", "Legends of Tomorrow" is not listed under series, but is under episodes. Maybe I'm on the wrong track, how are series and films assigned to an actor?

The odds are that is the way TMDB handles the Actor as he is not in every episode. As you break it down by season he is only listed Season 2. per TMDB api metadata for the Show/Series he is not list as primary character unlike how TVDB list him. So per your metadata priority you only get Actors from first provider. Or you have to add the person to the show manually. Edited December 1, 2024 by Happy2Play typo 1
