Checkoutside 17 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 As the title states! So, I looked at the dashboard of my server this morning and it is telling me that 4.8.10.0 is available. I do not update from that area, rather choosing to shut down the server and update from a dloaded file from your site. Back when I had my server on a WD PR2100 nas, this was not an issue as the dloaded file always has the version in the filename. The Windows version does NOT have the version number in the filename and I would like to request that the version be added for clarity. I suspect that 4.8.10.0 is real (as when I look at the file to dload from the WD area it has that in the filename), but the file is the same exact size as the last update (4.8.9.0). The area in the forums for latest versions does NOT have 4.8.10.0 there yet so you can see where my confusion is. I do believe that adding the version number to the filename would easily stop any confusion in the future. If I missed something, please feel free to correct me!
pwhodges 2012 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 If you download from https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases then the version number is clearly there. Are you perhaps just downloading the installer which finds the latest version and gets that? Paul

Same as I did for the nas. If I do the nas dload it includes the version number. If I do Windows, there is no version number, only setup.exe.

Really have to dig just to run the installer from there!
geowill76 8 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Hi Would like to report that I am also seeing the same thing as Checkoutside. My windows server notified of new version, 4.8.10.0. I downloaded the setup file directly from the Emby website and my server is now updated to 4.8.10 but in the forum the release notes state that latest version is 4.8.9

I did do that later, but with no version in the filename, and no verification in the "latest versions" topic, I was not sure if it was correct. Not a HUGE deal, just something to maybe look at getting a bit better. 1

But @CBerswill update it when gets a chance. 1
