Srjackbuckles 4 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Hello all, I have a consistent problems where if for example I have stopped watching an episode or movie part way through and then go back to watching it again, the playback just does not work. I see it in continue watching, the completion percentage looks correct, but it just spins and spins and never plays. If I then close out of it and go back into it then my playback history is removed and it starts from the beginning of the media. I have experienced this behavior across multiple apps including Roku TV, Android TV, IOS, inside of the Firefox browser and on the Windows theater app. Please advise as to any logs I would need to share in order to shed light on this issue
Luke 42077 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 @Srjackbuckles Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Srjackbuckles 4 Posted October 3, 2024 Author Posted October 3, 2024 I believe this log here was within the time frame embyserver-63863500762.txt
Luke 42077 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Hi, was there an ffmpeg log file? Please attach that as well. Also have you updated to Emby Server 4.8.10? Has that helped?
Srjackbuckles 4 Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 I have not updated to 4.8.10 yet, but I have had this happening for a long time, so unless it was specifically addressed in the update, I don't know if that will fix it. I am attaching a few ffmpeg files from a time period where I was experiencing the lack of playback. ffmpeg-transcode-2d5a4bb5-bca8-4c08-b85b-264f452cfd10_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-82ac9b7a-2346-4964-af44-35de78959e19_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-92b7465c-bc35-41ae-a263-2fd85ff5c11a_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-258a9c35-c1ae-452b-95ae-df2e2da1f6b3_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-524f5fd8-f035-462c-886c-aa94596b40d6_1.txt
Srjackbuckles 4 Posted October 25, 2024 Author Posted October 25, 2024 Here is an ffmpeg log as well as the server log itself from the exact scenario where it will not resume. Happened between 8:55 and 8:56 embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-adf30e24-eb63-446c-9340-94f8cc16614a_1.txt 1
Luke 42077 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Hi, we're looking into it. Thanks. As a reminder I would also suggest updating to Emby Server 4.8.10.
Srjackbuckles 4 Posted October 28, 2024 Author Posted October 28, 2024 I have updated to 4.8.10 since then and am still having the issue. I have also completely rebuilt the permissions structure for the access to my media, and the Emby user should have full read and write access to every file. I also created another thread with a different issue I am having that might possibly be related. Thanks! 1
