Could someone provide a link to the apk for this beta for side loading? I can't find it in the apps or play store. Thank you!

I paid to unlock "Emby for Android TV" but sometimes I think that "Emby for Android" looks better.

What is the purpose of having 2 apps on Android TV? Emby team should decide to have one or the other.

I saw here someone talking about Plex (and not getting any "reply").

It was the 1st I started using (only for my own files stored on a Synology. And without PlexPass), and no matter what people can say, it is really polished, apps well integrated to each type of device (and not duplicated) and has a tremendous music app!

The watch history sharing on Plex can be deactivated; don't know why people complain so much about it.

Anyway, I'm planning to leave Plex (it's a shame to lose Plexamp) and staying with Emby (and Jellyfin only as a backup) which I'm learning to like a lot but one thing that I would love to see implemented, was music themes for selected movies, TV shows, etc.

I already read here, somewhere, that we can do that by placing an MP3 on the folder but, for me, that's not the solution (Plex has this, at least for TV shows, and without Plex Pass).

I'm considering also to go with Premiere (even not having any interest on live TV, DVR) to support Emby team, but some of the things I mentioned, are causing me doubts.

119€ is a lot of money, and it's only 0,99€ cheaper than PlexPass (with automatic music themes, Plexamp, a more cohesive apps), which sometimes a year goes on sale.

Tough decision.

Hello Luke, I have also paid for Android TV version. Made the payment from phone (1-touch payment with fingerprint), but the Android TV version on Shield still showing as trial. Can you fix that?

Have you tried the restore unlock button?

I have tried "Unlock" -> Error you already have this.

Then, tried something like which I don't understand "Reload buying unlock" (the wording -> cause local translation is reading like that) and tada.

Thank you! I haven't really noticed that one.

It was waay on the bottom of the library.

Any info about Premiere sale? Considering buying one. Will mention on another topic but currently Emby is really the best of 3 media players which I've tried them all.

And the only one that can play 10 bit x264 files without transcoding. Plex can't do that and my main reason of moving away from it.

Hi, we are working on getting a new release submitted to the store. Thanks.

I have Emby for Android TV and Emby for Android on my AndroidTV box.

Honestly, I prefer the later. IMHO, not only it seems more appealing, more complete, but also we have more control of everything and on Emby for Android TV, the settings are minimal.

And yet there are still a lot of people with the opposite opinion.

Interesting.    I don't know what settings I am missing or could want in ATV.

So you're perfectly fine with Emby for Android TV.

"When will the Android TV version add the playback speed control to the primary menu of the status bar? The regular Android version has already implemented it."

Hi.  Not sure exactly where you mean but speed control is available in the TV app - only when it will work, however.  If you are bitstreaming audio (DD, DTS, etc), it is not available.

Sorry, I'm using machine translation software. I mean the TV version has this feature, but it's hidden in the secondary menu. Can it be put on the control panel like the regular version?

Why not just use the standard app?

IMO changing the speed of a video should be a very rare operation and doesn't warrant that kind of prominence on the tool bar.

First of all, I'm sorry that my English is not very good, so I can only use Google Translate. On my Sony TV, the interactivity and fluency of the TV version are much better than the regular version. This is a fast-paced society, and there are too many TV dramas with long plots and slow lines. So 1.25x-1.5x-1.75x speed is very common here. And the app will clearly display the current playback speed.

The latest version of Android TV has the Skip Introduction button not darkened when selected.

Hi.  I believe it actually appears a little lighter when selected but, given that it is the only thing on the screen, it is selected in your screen shot.

There is almost no difference between selecting and not selecting. It is recommended to keep it in the same style as other buttons.
