Hi when will the android tv app be updated past 2.1.23g it’s been like that since Dec 2024 and the android one is more up-to-date now???

Hi.  We are trying to keep the TV app compatible but we suggest using the standard app for the most up-to-date features.

The latest Beta version of the Android TV app on the Google Playstore is v2.1.44, which is the latest version.

Yes.

It can be downloaded here, and sideloaded, if you're not a Beta tester.

Then can you help me troubleshoot why it’s still not appearing for me? I don’t want to sideload the update everytime it comes out?

So what version do you currently have installed?

And which device are you running the ATV app on?

Just download the the latest APK from the link above and install for now.

It might kickstart updates going forward.

I sideloaded the beta v2.1.44g registered

It’s on my nvidia shield

I think I’ll leave the beta then come back?

It shouldn't really matter where you installed the app from, the Android store should still say (Beta) like in the picture I posted in your other thread once you're in.  It just might be a few versions behind while it catches up.

As far as what you see in the store, this is correct.  However, the app will not auto update unless you install from the store.

ok this is odd, I forgot I had a 2nd shield and it actually appeared for that account? is there something wrong with the shield 2019? I'm now thinking of signing out then back in again to see if it picks it up like my other shield did?

wow! I'm flabbergasted it worked... I just signed out then back in again and now the beta shows up in play store....... sorry for wasting ppls time!

Nope same account and now I just keep running into issues! I’ve now received the dreaded device unlock msg and there’s nothing I can do about it which is weird considering the beta is still being kept up to date yet you guys say to use the other Emby android app and that has device unlock fixed

There isn't such a thing as "Emby for Nvidia shield". Nvidia Shield uses Android TV as all other TV boxes (with Android, of).

I'm sure OmniiOMEGA meant Emby for Android.  The other app is listed as Emby for Android TV in the store.

It's not a certainty that they will release a newer version but, at least, it's something.

 

Honestly, I don't care about the gaming features, "just" a powerhouse Android TV box for streaming (including my UHD remuxes using Emby), support for all newer video and audio codecs, without lag. But if Nvidia releases a new one, I'm even afraid to know the price.  

 

There's the Homatics R Plus 4K but the issues list of fw updates and overheating, is too long for me to buy it. And, as far as I know, the team behind it is very small.
