Hi. We are trying to keep the TV app compatible but we suggest using the standard app for the most up-to-date features.

I don’t want to sideload the update everytime it comes out?

FrostByte 5460 Posted Wednesday at 08:44 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:44 PM It shouldn't really matter where you installed the app from, the Android store should still say (Beta) like in the picture I posted in your other thread once you're in. It just might be a few versions behind while it catches up.

OmniiOMEGA 16 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago ok this is odd, I forgot I had a 2nd shield and it actually appeared for that account? is there something wrong with the shield 2019? I'm now thinking of signing out then back in again to see if it picks it up like my other shield did?
OmniiOMEGA 16 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago wow! I'm flabbergasted it worked... I just signed out then back in again and now the beta shows up in play store....... sorry for wasting ppls time! 1

I’ve now received the dreaded device unlock msg and there’s nothing I can do about it which is weird considering the beta is still being kept up to date yet you guys say to use the other Emby android app and that has device unlock fixed
OmniiOMEGA 16 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago @ebrwhat’s the difference between Emby for android TV and Emby for Nvidia shield? Will this version fix the device unlock issues?
ebr 16354 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago 30 minutes ago, OmniiOMEGA said: Emby for Nvidia shield? We don't have an app named that. Exactly what problem are you having?
Kurt13 12 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 1 hour ago, OmniiOMEGA said: @ebrwhat’s the difference between Emby for android TV and Emby for Nvidia shield? FrostByte 5460 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm sure OmniiOMEGA meant Emby for Android. The other app is listed as Emby for Android TV in the store.

Yes, it can only be that. Spoiler BTW, a quick off-topic: It would be great to see a newer Nvidia Shield TV Pro but I already lost hope

It's not a certainty that they will release a newer version but, at least, it's something. Honestly, I don't care about the gaming features, "just" a powerhouse Android TV box for streaming (including my UHD remuxes using Emby), support for all newer video and audio codecs, without lag. But if Nvidia releases a new one, I'm even afraid to know the price. There's the Homatics R Plus 4K but the issues list of fw updates and overheating, is too long for me to buy it. And, as far as I know, the team behind it is very small. Well, sorry to all for the off-topic. 1
