Last drives from WD kept failing and I was losing data messing up my server so I'm going with seagate this time around. Just need one server case that can hold 10 and also power 10.

Fractal Design makes some nice cases but make sure if they require 3.5" mounting brackets you that that into consideration as they are extra and the cost adds up fast.

 

Even if you don't install it in a rack this is a popular option with lots of room for 3.5" drives.

I ended up buying a couple of 5 bays they are small and not to bad looking, I know a ten bay may be better but these ones are cheap. I can hide these under the tv in the living room I have a glass unit built into the wall that's flush close to the floor under the tv to put them. What's good software to check these hard drives to see how much time is on them thanks guys.

The more I look at these pics I'm thinking I'm going to send these 2 back  these will probably heat my drives up and burn them out.

It looks like it has some nice cooling going on.  Just allow some air to into the area and not close it up tight.  Probably an open back is good.  

I wonder if having so many hours of content available is more than most people can comfortably handle.  Online services tend to have fewer shows and cycle them through every week or so to keep the experience fresh.  You know this effect, when you were a kid and first time in a really big candy store.  Oh my gosh... which one should I get... Ha.

Doesn't look too bad as you have a fan pushing air up onto the drives.  Will come down to actual circulation around the drives.

I like watching my own media and I like having emby on all the tv's in our house it's what we all like best. I ran everything from the garage until the hard drives burned out maybe from the heat and paint fumes I paint cars almost daily so more than likely contributed to the drives clicking sounds before they stopped working. This time I want everything in the house I might even get a buddy of mine to build me something behind our living room tv inside the wall with fans and have a sheet of glass flush with the wall like what's close to the floor now. I had another buddy set most of this up for me with sonarr radarr and a bunch of other stuff it downloads 24/7 non stop everyday when it was going. Everything in the shop was bolted to the wall and the hard drives all on there own little shelf my buddy made but I think the paint got to it unfortunately, maybe I should of stuck with netflix would of been cheaper. The only thing that makes me stick with emby is all the other apps I used in the past always buffered and froze in the middle of movies I can't deal with that, with emby we have no issues it just works so I will dish out the extra money for the hardware for this stuff.

Happy2Play thanks but now I want something custom built in the wall for my setup and I can get it done cheaper maybe but if not I want my setup behind my tv in the wall with cooling fans I have some good friends that always help me out with this stuff. I'm kind of good with this computer stuff and what not but not like these guys my buddy is on his way over to the house to grab these hard drives to copy his emby content over to them so I don't need to download all that stuff over again he said it will take at least a week he has more content on his emby server than I ever did.
