Remote connection failing when other members are successful

Trying to find an answer and I am stumped. Using EMBY app on my FireTV. Trying to remotely log into my son's media server and it continues to fail. I can select the server but it fails at Name and Password. Strange thing is that he has other family members logging into his media server without issues. He has deleted my account, created a new one and it still fails to connect at Name and Password. I have even tried their name and password and it fails, which leaves me to believe it is on my end. I have cleared data and cache, reentered server info and same results. Can anybody point me where I am messing up?

Hi.  Are you trying to connect with SSL?  It may be that the Fire device doesn't trust the servers cert.

On the screen after the failure, there should be a "Send Logs" button.  Can you reproduce the issue and then press that button?  Then come here and tell me exactly when you did that.

I will try. But after I try inputting the name and password. It basically 'freezes' then kicks me out.

I just sent the log. But it was sent before I inputted my name and password. Once I tried a name and pasword, it freezes, then kicks me out.

Are you going through some sort of proxy?  It looks like something is modifying the server responses causing the app to receive invalid data.

Also, can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Another question...would it matter if I have an EMBY server too? I host some of my own media for myself, but I wanted to reach out to his as he has different content.

It shouldn't matter .Your server and his server are independent of each other.

Thanks.  The problem is fixed.

I went and installed the standard 'EMBY' app and login was successful. Still doesn't make sense to me why the EMBY for Fire TV' was unable to successfully login, but I have uninstalled that app and am now using just the standard EMBY app. Appreciate the help.
