MP3 Tag for Album Sort

I have some albums that are named with suffix One, Two, Three etc but trying to get them to automatically sort 01, 02, 03, I have used the album sort tag in MP3tag but it's not pulling through in emby, Any ideas?

Hi,

Looking at the above pictures, it appears the sort field matches the Albumsort field in the metadata pic.
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to show.  Could you elaborate a little more to make your issue easier to understand?

Sorry to interject...

I think the OP is trying to explain that ALBUM SORT embedded metadata (which can be set up using MP3tag) is not imported into the "Sort title" field within Emby. (I did a quick small test and found the same result).

Luke mentioned a while back that it isn't currently supported in Emby:

If this is still the case, then "Sort title" would need to be manually configured to allow for a different Album order to be shown.

In the OP images the "Sort title" is just replicating the "Title" of "Club Class: Volume Five" giving an 'incorrect' alphabetical sort.

If all required "Sort title" had been imported as e.g. "Club Class: Volume 05" for all relevant Albums then a 'correct' numeric sort would occur.

(If I have misunderstood, then please disregard!)

If you add your ALBUM SORT tags manually into the "Sort title" field you should get the results you are after.

I did a small test of this to confirm on the main Album page view:

Sort Title = Title = One, Two, Three, Four, Five

Sort Title = 01, 02, 03, 04, 05

Hopefully this will work for you (although I have seen some older posts where others have had some related problems).

Yes until Emby actually uses the embedded value you have to manually apply the sort title you want.  Also you need to ensure the Sort Title is locked or it will rest to what Emby wants it to be.
