is there a way to to make it so each user has there own recording folder so when they hit record it only records to a folder they have access to instead of a community recordings folder. Also I know you can set tags for all of your channels and use parental controls to only show channels you want for users, but this is extremely time consuming when you have m3u tuners for each user with thousands of channels. It would be way easier and efficient if you could either assign tuners to users or at least be able to add  tags to tuners instead of just channels.

No, there is no concept of individual user recording folders in Emby. I would suggest checking the feature request section of the forum to see if there is a similar request to your needs and join in on the conversation or start a new feature request if there isn't anything similar.

Here are just a few high-level things to think about if you open a new feature request.  Think about the logistics of having 5 different people recording the same show. Would you use 5 tuners to record the same show when it is broadcast, each recording to a different user folder? Would you use just one tuner to record the show to 5 different folders on your system. There will be IO overhead involved anytime you're recording to multiple folders.  Do you really need separate user folders so you can maintain them or curate them at the disk level outside of Emby or does this really not matter and things could stay as they are currently, but you really want more control over who has access to the recorded media? IE a person only has access to a recording or show if they had triggered it to be recorded, but the single recording of the media is shared to them once they triggered it to be recorded. This could have advantages since you could already have 3 or 4 seasons of show already recorded on disk and once the user chooses to record the show, they get access to everything you already have as well.

How would shows get scheduled to record when there isn't enough tuners available or what kind of priority would be used to choose what is recorded? By that I mean if you the admin wanted X show recorded and you're the only person to record it, but 5 other people all wanted Y recorded, would the system bump your request since there is 5 times the priority of Y compared to X even though you're the admin? Technically, it's all doable and having a better understanding of your specific needs would be fantastic, if you open a feature request!

One thing I do wonder about is "tags." I wonder if it is possible to have each user have a unique tag for recording and then to restrict the content by tags. I do not know if that is even possible but it seems to me that tags would be one of the less intrusive ways to add at least part of what the OP wants.
