Mark previous episodes as played

Since the app now shows missing episodes in their own menu and not alongside episodes with files, how exactly can you mark an episode as played? Really struggling to find a way to do this since the change.

Since you cannot play an episode you do not have you cannot mark it as played. It makes perfect sense to me. 
But I can see how showing an episode that is unplayable is confusing. I wish the reporting of missing episodes was completely outside the interface that users usually see. Only the admin of a library needs to know an episode is missing so Emby should restrict the "Show missing episodes" functionality to only admin users and only from the main server dashboard. Nobody else has any need to know. 

Also why does anyone need, except the admin, to even know about missing episodes? They do not display when playing the series so they do not need to be marked as played.

I believe the previous view of missing episodes allowed you to check a missing episode as played. Makes sense to me cause sometimes you don't have the episode but you know you watched it and you want to mark it as played so you don't forget.

Correct. And I am also the admin.

And my exact use case is to promote shows to the continue watching section.

A script deletes played media after a few days but once it's removed emby thinks it was never there and removes it from continue watching. Marking the previous, unavailable episode as watched in the past has worked.

Are these episodes you deleted, or never had at all?

OK this is a use case that we are looking into improving for all users without having to enable any missing episode option, so stay tuned.
