LeidenSpain 33 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Hi everyone: I am surprised by this point, so I have searched for information but have not found anything. When I download a video to my phone to watch it on trips, if I leave it half-watched, it doesn't get marked on the server. On my mobile phone, the downloaded video does appear as half-played, but if I then continue watching it on another device, it doesn't start. Is this normal? Do I have something configured wrong? Regards,
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 The point of downloading to a device is to enable you to play without a connection to the server - I think it's natural in that case that the server doesn't get told what you are doing! Paul

Paul The idea of downloading is to be able to watch without using data, without requiring the video from my server. But not knowing what I have seen or not has nothing to do with data consumption or speed. Without going any further, when I download something from a streaming platform, I can watch it on the plane. And when I get home, the application knows where I left off.
ebr 16169 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Hi. Have you allowed that app on that device to connect to your server after you partially played it? At that point, it should update the resume point. 1

But I just noticed that not even on the device does the same viewing point appear in the downloaded video and online. I just noticed that (from the phone), if I access the movie from the DOWNLOAD section, the viewing point does appear, but if I go to the library, it gives me the option to select both videos (downloaded or online), but it does not show the viewing point.

LeidenSpain 33 Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 Sorry, since I only use Android, I didn't know if it was a problem with the app or the server. Then I saw that the displayed point was not coordinated in the app itself.
LeidenSpain 33 Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 And today, without doing anything at all, the movie appears synchronized with my server. 1
