turtlejay 0 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Hello. I've searched the forum and read a bunch of threads and I can't seem to find an answer. I recently bought an S95C and paired it with a q990c sound bar. When I play anything with Dolby Atmos from emby it automatically transcodes the audio. I've read here that native TV apps won't passthrough uncompressed 7.1 but every other app on the TV will l. Disney+, Netflix etc can all do it. So why is emby transcoding?

turtlejay 0 Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 Thanks for the answer. That makes sense.
FrostByte 5392 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 For a list of compatible audio/video codecs see the chart in the back of your user's manual. Anything not on that list will need transcoding. If your file has an alternate compatibility audio track it's always best to preselect it first before clicking Play. 2024 TV specs: https://developer.samsung.com/smarttv/develop/specifications/media-specifications/2024-tv-video-specifications.html
