Emby transcoding all audio on my Samsung S95C

Hello. I've searched the forum and read a bunch of threads and I can't seem to find an answer. I recently bought an S95C and paired it with a q990c sound bar. When I play anything with Dolby Atmos from emby it automatically transcodes the audio. I've read here that native TV apps won't passthrough uncompressed 7.1 but every other app on the TV will l. Disney+, Netflix etc can all do it. So why is emby transcoding?

Streaming apps are likely using DD+ as underlying audio format, as opposed to TrueHD which you're trying to play.

Thanks for the answer. That makes sense.

For a list of compatible audio/video codecs see the chart in the back of your user's manual.  Anything not on that list will need transcoding.  If your file has an alternate compatibility audio track it's always best to preselect it first before clicking Play.

This might also be useful, it is the same issue for both LG and Samsung. Atmos on LG TV | Emby Documentation
