Collections Problem, being created even when turned off , overwriting

Collections. Turned off. Emby keeps creating collections which don't even make sense, eg predator with 3 movies in it and not even in sequence.
Then overwrites my star wars collection I made and my marvel collection I made deleting everything. However my DC collection is fine and any collection named something like 1_predtor is fine.
see terminator example below.  yes I made a collection called terminator, yes it had al movies in and yes even the turned off collections is set to 4

This has beem going on for years , deleted the nfo, moved pc and now its done it again.

I have lost my collection data.

I have deleted the nfo files repeatedly to ensure no collection data is in them.

Would have to see a written nfo file. 

But will retest this as have never seen the setting be ignored.  So can only assume the <set> node is being written and read.

But Emby can't be as that is not part of provider metadata.  So an Admin had to add that media.

Yes as Emby is not writing it so I can only guess it is coming from RADARR written nfo files.  I would guess you need to disable **arrs nfo writing.

Emby will always read existing metadata no matter where it came from so if your nfo contains <set> nodes Collections will be made per the minimum number size.

emby has to be writing 3_star wars as it only exists in emby. il turn off radarr nfo

Have no idea how radarr metadata works as it should be 100% independent of Emby and Emby would be reading what is provided.

All existing metadata has to be manually edited to remove the affected information.  Since it has already been imported into the database it is not as easy to just edit nfo files as the database could push the information back to nfo files in certain scenarios.

So you may have to delete Collections within Emby to delete the collection and remove the node from nfo file assuming you have nfo saver enabled and/or Remove item from Collection if it is just a item within a Collection.

I manually deleted the nfo file. Refreshing the metadata did not delete it.

This has corrected the set data.

However checking the collections meta data folder in emby star wars collection folder is still there..

As mentioned it is already in the database.  You would have to remove file/folder from Emby, scan to clear item from DB, delete nfo file, readd file/folder to Emby to be reimported into DB and get metadata to write nfo file.

As for Taxi (1998) I have no idea as using your nfo information it does not create a collection for me as there is no set node and only one movie for me in my test.

It must have been radar. However there was a taxi collection in emby from June 2024.

its always the same collections that are created. Not any others but there's is no set data so I have no idea where or why they are created. Also they always have collection added to the name unless an existing name match is there like terminator

Minus having different nfo saver options I have no idea as the nfo does not have the information so a set can not be made. 

Now you can have metadata providers enabled and nfo saver disable and previous information could have been written to DB and not to nfo files at the time it happened.
