PhantomCircuit 6 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 How to stop Emby from auto renaming and adding the metadata and have the library show the name as I've named the file? I do not need the photos too. Right now, I have to edit the metadata and remove all the populated information which can be a lot. Please help. THanks!
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 If the library you have is of type "movie" then it will automagically fetch data from the internet. However if it is of type photos or home videos it will not. There is a way to force a movie library to not fetch metadata. All you must do is edit the library involved (In advanced mode, I think) and deselect every provider that is a metadata or images leaving only image fetcher enabled. If you have real movies in that same library then it is MUCH more difficult (probably impossible) but you can have a separate library for your "special" films. Also collections can span libraries so having a collection that includes both Movies that are actually in a movie library and one that does not. Both solutions are more kludge than real solution but we have to work with the tools we are given. I wish there was a file name convention that could be added to each file to tell Emby do not fetch metadata for this file. Something like "FileName [NoMeta].ext" Good Luck
PhantomCircuit 6 Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 thanks @Gilgamesh_48, I had set the library as 'mixed content'. There are no real movie in the library. It's a screen recording using OBS, unless that source is detected as a movie? I can't locate the provider in the Library Advanced settings (or any of the settings.)
Luke 42079 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 Hi, did you try scrolling down through all of the library options?
PhantomCircuit 6 Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 thanks @Luke- got it - it works now. I was able to find the options inside the Library collection 1
