Any tools that strip unwanted subtitles?

I have been looking into external tools that do this, but I'm worried if I run a command using ffmpeg or an mkvtoolnix tool, it may have issues if the title is in use when it goes to save it.

Wondering if there are any better ways to do something like this. I know there is a 'conversions' in Emby but I'm guessing that might be more like remuxing containers?

If anyone is familiar with some good way to do this, it's much appreciated!

I think any tool will have issues if the file is in use. I’ve always liked mivtoolnix

Have look into Tdarr

There are some plugins that can be used.

I use these plugins in tdarr to strip out subtitles that I don't want.

Tdarr_Plugin_MP01_MichPasCleanSubsAndAudioCodecs

Migz Clean Subtitle Streams

They do there support via Discord.

If you deside to use Tdarr, make a test library and test on that.

Before letting it loose on your normal library's

There is an Emby plugin that should acieve what you want, its called Sub-Killer. it was written mostly for Samsung TV users as they don't play nice with too many subtitles.
