Rorazemby 1 Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 I'm trying to play certain 4K movies and tv shows my Synology Emby server onto multiple devices (have tried my Samsung smart tv, tablet and browser on my computer) however they don't play. When I try playing them through my browser, I eventually get the error message 'No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details.' I have other 4K shows and films that play fine though, so I'm thinking it might be a codec issue (?). I've tried my best to self diagnose the issue through the forums but nothing I've found seems to fix the issue, so any help would greatly be appreciated! My setup: Synology DS218+ / DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 7 EMBY Version 4.8.8.0 Emby and transcode logs attached, from right after I tried to play one of the movies that doesn't play. I can play the movie through VLC on my computer directly through my network connection. ffmpeg-transcode-3bd9ea06-36bf-4deb-a22d-ea819719e573_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d685b5ab-7f30-4dd7-9ae6-68d0f55b1eae_1 (1).txt ffmpeg-transcode-d685b5ab-7f30-4dd7-9ae6-68d0f55b1eae_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-fa924a67-697e-4f6d-90f1-f2d1021afa3e_1.txt embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-9a5e008b-dc64-4fdc-ad17-ec10f2ee7c6e_1.txt

Your server machine is underpowered for such task/cannot keep up. Try playing that item without subtitles selected or obtain external text-based subs. 1
Rorazemby 1 Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 turning off subtitles has reduced the stress definitely allowing a couple more videos to play. I think @GrimReaperis right and my nas just cant process files like that 1

These can generally direct play those subtitles without transcoding whereas the browser cannot.
