d00zah 149 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I have the same redundancy w/ TV Series on a smaller scale. Happy to test against my setup when available.

StrmAssistant/README.en.md at mod · sjtuross/StrmAssistant · GitHub Aside from including unwanted tags (cosmetic), it does what I need it to. Mind if I ask what your issues with it were?

Mind if I ask what your issues with it were? Unwanted tags - indeed. And no "correct" info at the TV Shows; they said it not work well for TV Shows? True? (And plugins without any settings/info...not a fan of globally) I'm installed StrmExtract yesterday again, give it another try. After I will try StrmAssistant also.
d00zah 149 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) To be honest, looking at a few series, it looks pretty clean... all the codec info I want. No tagging, but that could just be the targets themselves. If only StrmExtract had some filters. Please share your impressions of StrmAssistant re: Movies. Edited December 19, 2024 by d00zah
dves010 1 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Ok, will wait for the StrmExtract to be finished...maybe it is ok this time. Will let know if StrmAssistant is also working or maybe a better choice afterall.
jelum 36 Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 @d00zah@dves010unfortunately, logic is implemented slightly differently for TV shows, and I didn't find a proper way to merge inter-library. sorry

Wich program section I can look at, mainly? I mainly checked in two places: * ILibraryManager#MergeItems(BaseItem[]) can merge only videos - used for movie * MediaBrowser.Controller.Entities.TV.Series#CreatePresentationUniqueKey(BaseItem[], LibraryOptions) - the only place where I found a usage of the config EnableAutomaticSeriesGrouping (this is a flag used in library configuration). I'm less familiar with a "PresentationUniqueKey" meaning, it looks like it's unique per library (in that case will not help for the issue). So I don't want to break something that will emerge too late. Since the code is "closed" it will take too long to find all pitfalls.
Ronstang 293 Posted January 26, 2025 Posted January 26, 2025 I want to try this but am wondering is it something that can be uninstalled and your database reverts to how it was before? I have a huge amount of physical files and a large number of libraries for testing purposes. Is it possible to run this on just one library that has multiple directory stores and subdirectories? I have a library that I know what and where all the dupes are so it would be easy for me to test the results?

Using common sense would say create a backup of the db, and the just replace if it you have issues ....

Yes but the last time I tried this I spent the better part of 3 days getting my emby back where it was because the backup did not work. And yes, I followed the tutorial.
bakes82 167 Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 there is a tutorial for finding the .db file and pressing ctrl c and ctrl v?
Ronstang 293 Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 I added this plugin into my test emby server on a different machine and it did nothing. How do I get it to work? It shows up in the plugins in the emby settings but it is doing nothing. I only have 2 movies in a test library with two different versions of each to make library scans lightning fast but still nothing.

Those movies should have at least one similar ID—the same TMDb, or IMDb, or kinopoiskId, or traktId, etc.
Luke 42077 Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 Automatically merging movies by Movie Db Id will be a built-in feature in the upcoming Emby Server 4.9 release. Thanks. 2

Thanks. Is it possible to merge them using multiple (dynamic) providers? Some of my videos don't have a TMDB ID.

I don't know if that will happen right now, but I do hate to have tmdb hardcoded so yes I think that is a logical next step. Actually if tmdb id emtpy it checks imdb. Until the time is carved out to add more options to library setup to make it dynamic, I think that will work for the vast majority.

You can take my code as a base for implementation - it supports multiple providers 1
besii 0 Posted July 22, 2025 Posted July 22, 2025 thanks! plugin works like a charm! are there any news or workarounds to get the same for tv shows?
