Emby 2.2.29 crashes after unlocking iPad during video playback

New bug in 2.2.29.

 

Emby updated last night and now I can’t fall asleep to my favourite show.

 

Before the update, I would start playing an episode, turn off my screen and the show would play through episodes fine until l stopped it.

 

Since the update, I can start playing an episode, turn the screen off, but when it gets the end of the episode it does not start playing the next episode properly. I unlock my iPad, and I see the playing screen with the timeline bar, and it looks as the seconds are still ticking, but video is black and there is no sound. If I then tap ANY button, the app crashes and I have to start all over again.

 

This is the main issue but there have also been a couple of other annoying issues for the last couple of weeks.

 

1. When switching between full screen and pop-out there is a flash of a previous frame and the sound skips.  Not a major issue but annoying. It used to be seamless when switching.
2. If you start playing a video, lock the iPad, and then unlock it again the screen is frozen on the last frame of the video at the point of locking. The sound still plays but the video is frozen. You then have to pop-out the window, to get the video to start playing again, and then go back to full screen to continue watching.
