ALD76 26 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 With 2.1.21g refresh rate switching just gives an "Unable to set refresh rate" message on the new Google TV Streamer . The standard Android app works without issue.
Luke 42077 Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Quote The standard Android app works without issue. Hi, are you happy continuing to use this?
ALD76 26 Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 Hi Luke i like to use both versions. I managed to downgrade the app to version2.1.14g and refresh rate switching now works again so is an issue in latest version. I don't know if its an issue with this device or ATV 14 but it officially releases this week so will effect other people.

ebr 16169 Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Looks related to the new Android version and the problem is within the utility we're using to switch display modes. If the standard app works for you, that's going to be your best bet for now.

Jdiesel 1431 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Is this fix in the works or is the advice to downgrade to 2.1.14g? The Emby for Android app is too unstable at this time for daily use. The Android TV is still the gold standard for Emby apps.
ebr 16169 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Sorry, this is not likely to happen. I looked at it and the changes required cascade into to many avenues.

Can we get the June 10th, 2024 build 2.1.14g posted so people can stay on it? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/tree/master/androidtv

No, we're not going to try and support back-versions. You may be in luck on this one issue as I may have found a way to make it happen. However, this may not be the only Android 14 quirk and, eventually, things will probably fall out of spec in this app.
Solution ebr 16169 Posted September 30, 2024 Solution Posted September 30, 2024 I've confirmed I can fix the refresh rate switching on the new Google box. Fix will be in the next beta/release. Thanks. 1 1
