Thomamueller 2 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 I run Emby client on ATV and ONN Google TV. I prefer the Android UI over the ATV. However I struggle with volume on Android. When jumping back and forth between football games the volume is not consistent. Sometimes loud and other times it’s soft. Is there an android or Emby app setting to correct this? BTW audio is via Onkyo receiver.
Jdiesel 1431 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Chances are what is happening is the difference between PCM and Dolby levels. PCM is generally louder. The Shield TV has an option to match PCM and Dolby levels in the advanced sound settings by lowering the PCM levels. Check your device for something similar. You could also disable passthrough audio, effectively making everything PCM too.
Thomamueller 2 Posted September 21, 2024 Author Posted September 21, 2024 Thanks for the fast response. Did not find any of the settings you suggest. Pass thru not in the app and ONN has auto or dolly options. No reference to PCM.
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Is there any transcoding going on? There is a server setting for audio volume when transcoding. Paul
Thomamueller 2 Posted September 21, 2024 Author Posted September 21, 2024 No. Local network. Direct play on each channel.
