kingmustard 14 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 As an example, when I search for Halloween press Enter, then click Movies, the ordering is not by Release Year. Could it be? 1 1
ebr 16170 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Hi. Search results are sorted by relevance. Perhaps a secondary sort could be year...

Some of their factors could perhaps be: Term Frequency: How often the search term appears in the metadata of the media items. Field Weighting: Certain fields (like titles) may be given more importance than others (like descriptions). Exact Matches: Items that exactly match the search term could be ranked higher. Content Type: Different types of content (movies, TV shows, music) might be weighted differently If Year was being considered as a secondary sort, then perhaps the Search page could have some kind of Sort By tab, like other pages do? E.g.: Sort By: Relevance Date Date added Title Exact match? Other??? A Sort By function could also allow for ascending and descending ordering? The existing search filter tab options are quite good now (for me anyway), some Sort By options could be useful for more individual customisation. 1 1 1
