Media Playback stops on chromcast when resuming

Hello,

I've been having an issue for a while and I now have identified several characteristics. Hoping you can help me find a solution.

My config :

- Emby server running on nvidia shield

- Videos are played either directly on the shield, or from a chromecast on another TV on the same local network

Issue :

Sometimes, when playing videos on the chromecast, the playback stops between 10s and 1 min after I started it

  • Only does this on the chromecast, never happened on the shield
  • not doing it every time, what I noticed is that :
    • It ONLY happens when I've already started the video before (either on the shield or on the chromecast) and I'm restarting it later
      • If I'm watching a new video from start to finish on the chromecast, no issue whatsoever
    • It mainly happens with H264 files : for example, I'm watching a TV show currently and I have this issue on every episode, if the previous condition is met

-> Once I have the issue on an episode, it is impossible to play it.

  • I tried to quit the app and go back in, clear cache
  • To play the episode from start / mark as non read and play it again
  • to restart the server, clear cache
  • All of the above at once

Nothing works to play this episode on the chromecast. It always stops at the same time (if I stopped the episode at 5 min and play it from start, it will start at the same 5min mark)

Can you please help ?

I attach somes logs from yesterday. Problem occured around 21:58

Logs from emby server, stops at 22:00 because I restarted it after a few tries

Hi.  Any chance the Shield is running out of space during the transcode?

Hi

So I recently tried to move the transcoding temp folder to my NAS to avoid any issue linked to the shield disk space but it didn't change a thing.

+ as I said, when I watch a movie from start to end I never have any issue

FYI I have found this post a while back, where the issue is pretty similar, but I didn't get any real solution from it.
