a picture's worth a 1000 words...So, why the hole in the guide?
the issue is, as you can see the gray dot, the show is not recorded because Emby does not see it in the guide
PlutoTV is the m3u provider and is working fine

last EP in the raw EPG is the same as shown on top of the guide: S10E28. no E29 nor E30
that explains the gap

I see this from time to time. I use an m3u generated by CH-DVR. CH-DVR uses YouTube TV for its guide data.
When it happens if I actually select the "blank" area it shows the proper info at the top of the screen. The guide is blank in those areas, always at the front of the guide, but the info is available and it plays fine when selected. It is kind of like whatever fetches the guide data fails to supply the info needed for correct display of the first part of the guide but supplies all the needed info for playback.

For me this is not really much of a problem as I use live TV differently than most. I rarely "channel surf" but I use the guide to find and select shows/movies for recording. The only time I "surf" is when I want to watch a "live" sports match and then I already know what channel it is on so I look for that channel and I don't really need the graphics to see what I am about to watch. (I do not, at least I have not, seen this happen in any client, I've only seen it in the web interface.
If I restart the server the blank spot remains. I tested and nothing I tried made any difference but once there was a blank spot that spanned two shows and after a restart of the computer that blank spot remained but the second show was showing.

I find that behavior perplexing but the actual working of the live TV functionality seems to remain fine even though the display gets screwed up.

I don't explains 'em I just reports 'em.
