coltonyyz 10 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Hello! I had to format my hard drive and reintall Windows. I managed to copy my programdata folder before doing so. I reinstalled Windows, then Emby Server. I then copied the programdata folder overwrighting the files that were in there. But my library metadata (images primarily) are not showing up for almost everything. How do I start over (ugh) again so that Emby will re-add all the images again? Thank you!

When you refresh Metadata you have the option of replacing existing images.
coltonyyz 10 Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 Yes, I am doing that now but it's extremely slow. It's done 5 TV Shows in 10 mins. I simply want to delete everything that's already stored in the folder of what I copied over, and start fresh.
coltonyyz 10 Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 It's been 4 hours, and Emby still says it's 90% completed scanning only 1 folder... but it's not. Take a look at this screen print. You can see it's no where near 90%. My library is messed up and I don't know how to erase it and start fresh except uninstall Emby and start fresh that way. I really don't want to do that because of all my other settings and users set up.

It is either an uninstall - removing or renaming "%AppData%\Emby-Server\programdata" or as advised to continue but select the replace all images when refreshing metadata If you do start over with a fresh install - suggest before doing that, you unlink any embyconnect links to user accounts beofore recreating them after the fresh install
coltonyyz 10 Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 Is there a way to save the Users that I've set up if I go to remove/reinstall?

I never tried that - you could see if saving these would work: There is a "%Appdata%\programdata\config\users" folder with a folder for each user To go with this, there is a database "%Appdata%\programdata\data\users.db" and if server not shutdown tidily or is running then also ".db-shm" and ".db-wal" files and basic server configuration in "%Appdata%\programdata\config\system.xml"
