AV1 issue (direct play)

My Env Linux (docker). Playback device Roku express 4k+ . When I select play back of a AV1 encoded file with opus audio. To will transcode the video h264. If I use ffmpeg to transcode audio to AAC and remux with AV1 video emby will direct play back both. When emby should only transcode the audio stream of video. Then only way I can get the AV1 + Opus combo to play is to force direct play by disabling transcode.

Apologies. This is because HLS does not allow AV1 inside the m3u8/ts. Once you cannot direct play the item we can no longer deliver AV1 and it must be converted.

What is the transcode reason when the Roku plays one of these on your server? Do you have an ffmpeg log we can see?

Opus is supported on the Roku. But I suspect it is because the number of audio channels and your Roku believes it only has Stereo output and this is Opus using 5.1 surround. Can you share the ffmpeg log with us please? Thank you.

Sorry I have not had time to upload the log. I did check it and you are correct. They are encodes that I make . I will just add a compatibility track. Unless there is a different solution.
